This is a collection of scholastic papers presented at the three-day international conference titled ‘Design Education: Tradition and Modernity (DETM)’ organised by the National Institute of Design. It was an arrangement to bring together eminent design educators, practitioners, and senior students to tackle issues related to age-old design traditions and the urgency to develop a relevant and holistic approach to design education to meet the demands of the global economy. This book encompasses full-length papers presented by delegates from 27 countries who participated in the DETM conference. Various facets of design education and experience as exists in various parts of the world find a worthy mention in it.
